Easy Content Types plugin

One of the biggest and greatest things that has happened to WordPress is the addition of Custom Post Types (CPTs) way back in WordPress 3.0. CPTs really helped WordPress mature into a Content Management System and are absolutely necessary in every site I build and the majority of plugins that I use.

CPTs can be defined in code with various arguments and parameters, but the more you want to customize the post type, the more code you need. However, not everyone wants to get to grips with adding and editing code for their site and would prefer to do this kind of registration in the admin dashboard. Have you heard of Easy Content Types? It does just that. Originally a plugin from renowned WordPress plugin developer Pippin Williamson, it was recently acquired by the guys over at ThemeIsle.

The great thing about Easy Content Types is that it doesn’t just work for CPTs, you can also define custom taxonomies and meta boxes! Their site lists the full features of the plugin and has a good deal of screenshots of the plugin which I recommend you checking out.
